Wisconsin Finds 240 More Impaired Waterways

Over 200 new waterways impaired by toxic chemicals have been added to a list of areas designated by Wisconsin’s Department of Natural Resources.

Increased monitoring and standards on phosphorous and nitrates are the likely cause of this addition. This initiative means that Wisconsin’s DNR will have to work with state and federal authorities, as well as local communities, to formulate a plan to tackle the impairment of these waterways….
