EPA orders additional remediation at dump site

Between 1952 and 1968, over 46,000 tons of toxic PCBs were dumped at the Loeffel Superfund Site. Despite this, the site was not added to EPA’s list of superfund sites until 2011 and years of public outcry.

Due to exceedingly high amounts of PCBs and other contaminants, the EPA has recently ordered another round of PCB cleanup and removal at the Loeffel site.
